Ladies and gentlemen, a very good evening to one and all.

 

Honorable Chief Guest  of the day Shri S. Gopinath, Executive Director and Head Regional Officer (HRO) ONGC, Mumbai and Chairman Vidyalaya Management Committee;  Nominee Chairman, VMC , Dr. Bhagwan Das ,DGM, HR-ER , other Dignitaries, VMC members, PTA members, Officers of various PSUs , CRPF, RAF, CISF, President, Secretary & Member of Mahila Samiti, RWA ONGC, esteemed parents, dear students, ladies and gentlemen, it is my proud privilege to welcome you all, on the occasion of the Annual Day-2017-18 of our Vidyalaya.

Here at K V ONGC we teach and nurture our students to dream, to think, to act and ultimately this action will bring achievements and success for our students in various fields and activities of the Vidyalaya. 

HIGHLIGHTS OF ACHIEVEMENTS OF K. V. ONGC PANVEL 2017-18

The dedicated team of Kendriya Vidyalaya ONGC Panvel has conducted various activities throughout the Academic year 2017-18 for the overall Academic Progress and Holistic Development of our students.

It is my proud privilege and pleasure to present the glimpses of the activities, sincere efforts and achievements of our students and teachers in the session 2017-18.

 

A school's achievements are best mirrored in the accolades it earns. The plethora of activities the school has conducted and participated in and the overwhelming positive feedback it has received stand proof to the students Endeavour in promising the holistic development of students.

1) Academics:-

On the academic front, KV ONGC Panvel has maintained its impeccable performance by securing 100% result in XII CBSE for the fourth consecutive year.

Along with academics school also provides a platform to the students to showcase their talents.

2) Activities in the Primary Section:

The primary section conducts a series of activities throughout the year as per the KVS calendar and as per the direction of CBSE. Under the CMP (Common Minimum Programme), various activities were conducted to enable the all round development of the children in the primary section.

1)   School Readiness Programme was conducted for the students of Class I for four weeks in the month of April 2017 and an Orientation Programme for the parents of Class I was also conducted to familiarize them with the school system.

2)   A separate well equipped Audio-Visual Room and the Resource Room is available in order to cater to the varied needs of the students.

3)   About 55 students are enrolled in the Cubs & Bulbuls Movement. Activities like Cooking without Fire, Greeting Card Making, Yells, Skit etc Educational trips and tours were organized to nearby places like Post Office, Banks, Hospitals, Shopping centre etc.  The students of classes III-V were taken on an educational excursion in Jan 2018 to Kumar Resort this year.

4)   Bal Utsav at cluster level was celebrated in November 2017.Our students went to Kv Mankhurd to participate in C.C.A and to Kv N.A.D Karanja

for cubs and bulbuls activities. Our vidyalaya hosted the sports activities for the Bal Utsav. Children performed well and begged prizes under different events.

Master Geetanjit Medhi got Zonal Rank and received Gold Medal and Merit certificate. He also received Rs. 5000/ scholarship in both Science and Maths Olympiad.

2.     Save Us Wildlife Environment Olympiad: 26 students participated, Master Harshit Anand of class VA won Gold Medal and a Cash Prize in it.

3.     Dr. Homi Bhabha Bal Vaigyanik Competition also was conducted and 02 of our students received Merit Certificates in it.

4) SCIENCE ACTIVITIES:

·        Regional Level 45th JNNSME (Jawaharlal Nehru National Science Mathematic and Environmental Exhibition) was held in KV ONGC Panvel. 38 Vidyalaya of Mumbai Region Participated in it.12 projects and exhibits were selected for National level, out of which two projects were from KV ONGC Panvel made by the students namely Yash Thakre on topic Waste Management and Ninad Das came first in Digital Solutions at Regional level. Master Ashish Singh  of class X got selected for National Science Quiz  and participated  at KV IIT Kanpur  in April 2018. He  brought a Trophy to the Mumbai  Region . The guide teacher and mentor for both the Projects was Smt. Jyotsana Pote.

·        Science Day Celebration- A variety of science activities were performed  in morning assembly on 28th Feb 2018 . 60 students participated in Interschool science exhibition  Amivigyam at amity university . Two students got 2nd and 3rd prize. Master Soumya , Pradyumn and group got second prize and Kunal of 9th C got third prize for their exhibits .

·        Vigyan Manthan :Miss Manali Khandare of 11th B and Miss Tripti Vibhadik 9B particip[ated in vigyan manthan a PMU programme and made telescope for viewing celestial bodies and saw the red moon on 31st Jan 2018 with Principal,  teacher and parents from Vidyalaya ground.

·        Vigyan Jyoti: 3 girls will attend 20 days camp at KV IIT POWAI for motivating girls in science and engineering under a PMO programme they are 1)Monalik 12th B 2)Aditi.S 12th C 3)Aditi.K 12th C.

·        Teachers’ Achievement:

Mrs. Jyotsna Pote and Mrs. R. Karpagambal were nominated for 2nd Nobel   Prize Series, India 2018 program held at Panji, Goa in which eminent Nobel Lauretes  interacted  with teachers.

 

5)    GERMAN LANGUAGE ACTIVITIES:  

·        German youth Camp was conducted from 07/04/17 to 10/04/17 which was 

     attended by 4 students in  Bordi (Jungle Camp)

·        Shruti Parashar from class X visited Germany for 21 days in August 2017 

on study tour to attend a  German Language course conducted by Max Muller Bhavan along with German Teacher Mrs. Anjali Kakde.

·        Indo German inter cultural photo project “Show your City” Conducted by Mr. Gaurav Juyal and Goethe team in month of Nov and Dec 2017 which was attended by 2 students.

·        Fit in Deutsch A1 level & A2 level exam conducted on 9th Sept 17 at

Max Mueller Bhavanin in which 4 students appeared A1 level and 1 student appeared A 2 level and secured remark Very Good in Exam

·        The German Language Teacher Mrs Anjali Kakade was also sent to Germany to attend 2 weeks  Training Programme.

·        A German language work shop “Deutsch und Denken” a thinking  workshop was conducted in the vidyalaya on 17 FEB 2018  which was conducted by Roma Schulz. It was all about learning German and improving thinking skills.

6) GAMES AND SPORTS:

·        It gives me great pleasure to announce that 15 students have been selected for KVS National Level and 02 students for SGFI 2017-18.

Ø SPORTS ACTIVITIES AT SCHOOL LEVEL  

·        Cluster level sports meet – Lawn Tennis for boys and girls in April 2017.

·        Football U-14, U-19 Boys and Girls in April 2017.

·        Subroto Cup U-17 Boys and Girls in April 2017.

·        KV ONGC Panvel hosted the Regional Meet for Archery for Under- 14 and Under-17 boys and girls.

·        Inter-house competitions were conducted in football, basket ball, hand ball, kabaddi, Kho-Kho, table-tennis, chess, badminton, volleyball, cricket, hockey and Athletics for both boys and girls.

·        Extra Coaching in sports were given after school hours in Basketball, Football, table-tennis and Athletics to prepare them for various levels.

·        Sports Activity Outside School – Inter School football meet organized by Grukul School. Our vidyalaya won Gold Medal for our team.

 

·     REGIONAL LEVEL SPORTS 2017-2018

·        No of participants -117.

·        15 got selected for nationals.

·        2 students got selected for SGFI.

·        Subroto Girls – Football /U-17/bagged 2nd position in Regional Sports Meet 2017-2018.

·        Football Girls/U-14/ bagged 2nd position in Regional Sports Meet 2017-2018.

·        Hockey Girls /U-14/ bagged 3rd position in Regional Sports Meet 2017-2018.

·     NATIONAL LEVEL SPORTS 2017-2018

·        15 students of KV ONGC got selected for Nationals.

·        In Archery Anshika Kumari of class X bagged 5 gold medals in Archery U-17, in 48th KVS NSM 2017-2018. She got a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 in NSM.     

·        In Archery Prince Das of IX  got silver medal and the cash prize of Rs. 8000 at NSM.

·        In Football Mumbai Region team bagged 3rd position. Ankit Pandey of our vidyalaya was one of the team members and he got a cash prize of Rs. 5000.

·        Mumbai Region bagged 2nd position in Archery U-17 girls.

·        Anshika of our vidyalaya was part of Mumbai Region Team.

·        In Archery U-19 boys, Mumbai Region bagged 1st position in 48th KVSNSM 2017-2018. Pranav Limkar of our vidyalaya was part of Mumbai Region Team.

 

·        SGFI LEVEL SPORTS 2017-2018

·        Two students got selected for 62nd National School Games.

·        Anshika Kumari – Archery U-17 FITA Round

·        Prince Das - Archery U-17 FITA Round

·        Anshika got 8th position in SGFI and was selected for “Khelo India” – Introduced first time by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

                              

7)   DRAWING AND PAINTING: Various Competitions were held throughout the session 2017-18.

a)    Four students won prizes under SAKSHAYAM ONGC painting competition on the topic OIL AND GAS CONSERVATION.

b)    SAWACH BHARAT ABHIYAN COMPETITION

Miss Ganshu class XII got 1st prize in Inter-school painting competition organized by Shree Prashant  Thakur (MLA),   held at CKT college Panvel

c)     Road Safety Poster Competition 2017 organized by  ONGC

d)     A poster made by Diksha .S. Devale “How to control  Exam Stress” organized by KVS New Delhi , was selected for National Level Exhibition and is one of the Best ten posters from Mumbai region .

8)  CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:-

a) The students Council was formed in the beginning of the session for the       

     Smooth conduct of Morning Assembly and the entire CCA throughout the

     Year.

  b) Throughout the year different activities and competitions like Elocution,  

       Debate, Group Dance, Quiz, Poster-Making, Rangoli, Board Display etc. were  

       Conducted. Certificates and Prizes were given to the winners accordingly.

  c) By observing various activities, grades were allotted to the four Houses   

       namely Shivaji, Tagore, Ashoka and Raman.

 d) In addition to these, as per the directions of KVS(HQ),New Delhi, Special

     Days were observed like International Yoga Day, Teachers’ Day, 

     Vigilance Awareness Week, Constitution Day, KVS Foundation Day,

     Earth Hour and Earth Day etc .

e) ONGC – Under the banner SAKAHAYAM, ONGC conducted Essay writing and   

      Debate competition on the topic OIL AND GAS CONSEERVATION. A large

      number of students participated and won prize .

f) Students of secondary classes attended TELECONFERENCING with the

    Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 16th FEB 2018 on the topic –   

    “Ways to reduce examination stress”.

9) SOCIAL SCIENCE EXHIBITION:

In Social Science Exhibition, KV ONGC Panvel secured 2nd position in Skit and Group Song at Regional Level. Miss Ananda stood 2nd in Solo Dance at Regional Level represented Mumbai Region at National Level “Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat” held at Indira Gandhi National Centre of Arts ,New Delhi.

 

10) 30th YOUTH PARLIAMENT:

KV ONGC Panvel stood 1st at Regional Level 30th Youth Parliament Competition held at KV Bhandup amongst 5 KVs of Mumbai Region in August and stood 3rd at Zonal Level Youth Parliament Competition held at KV Ajmer amongst 5 regions viz. Ahmedabad, Rachi, Mumbai, Jaipur, and Agra in month of Oct.

 

 

 

 

11)  SCOUTS AND GUIDE ACTIVITIES:

·         Tritiya Sopan testing camp held in Vidyalaya  for Mumbai Cluster from 24/04/2017 to 27/04/2017.

·        8 Guides & 7 Scouts participated in Tritiya sopan testing  camp 2017 and qualified the same.

·        Under Vittiya Saksharata Abhiyan Scouts & Guides visited Kalundre Zilla Parishad School and taught them how to use , Digital Money transfer and Paytm etc. Nukkad Natak on Digital transaction also took place.

·        2 Guides participated in Zonal level Rajya Puraskar testing camp held in K.V. Bhandup and qualified for the same.

·        Communal Harmony Week was celebrated by scouts & Guides by organizing Rally with Slogans in ONGC Campus.

·        Flag day was celebrated on 7th November by distributing flags and organizing Rally.

·        National Youth Day was celebrated on 12th January by playing anecdote from Swami Vivekananda in morning Assembly

·        Independence day was celebrated by welcoming the chief Guest with Colour party of Scouts & Guides.

·        Miss Simran Shedge participated in National Level Rashtrapati Camp held at STC, Doddaballapur in Karnataka.

·        Thinking Day was celebrated by conducting different activities for Cubs & Bulbuls. Scouts & Guides demonstrated different types of bandages and rescue operations and also visited  Usarli Gramapanchayat.

·        Earth hour was celebrated by organizing a rally with slogans. The scouts & guides also campaigned for the ban of plastic.

 

12) CPPDPT PROGRAMME:-

·         Our Vidyalaya got a golden opportunity to conduct the CPPDPT programme which is the programme specially designed for the primary teachers by IGNOU. This year for the fifth phase of CPPDPT – Workshop Based Activities was conducted in May 2017.

·         The 15 days workshop focused on the learner- friendly teaching methods    

       comprising many activities. 37 Primary teachers from various KVs of

       Mumbai Region participated in it. 

 

13) HINDI PAKHWADA was celebrated in Vidyalaya from 14th Sep. to 30th Sep. 2017. Various Competitions like Essay-writing, Poem-recitation, debate, Calligraphy etc. were organized and the Winners were given the Certificates and the Prizes accordingly.

·        Our Principal Shri R.K. Sina amd two teachers Shri Ram Kumar and Smt. Sheela Singh were awarded Samman Patra by Mahatma Gandhi for spreading Awareness about Hindi . 13 students have also been awarded Gold medals.

 

14) VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK: was observed from 30th Oct to 4th Nov 2017 by K.V. ONGC, Panvel to generate public awareness about corruption.

·                                                  A rally was taken out in connection with the Vigilance Awareness Week.

·               In addition many activities like Essay writing, Skit, Slogan writing, Drawing and Painting competitions were organized among the students.

·               An Integrity Pledge was also taken by the teachers.

15) MUSIC DEPARTEMENT

·        Under Spic Macay, renowned Kathak Dancer Smt. Uma Dogra performed kathak dance in the vidyalaya on 21 FEB 2018

·        ROUTES TO ROOTS PROGRAMME

It is a unique program started by KVS through an NGO in order to give an exposure and train the children for classical songs, Dance and instruments. Online training is given to children by the renowned personalities in their respective fields. It is being conducted in only 2 KVs of Mumbai Region (KV ONGC Panvel & KV No. 1 Colaba)

Master Vaishak S Namboodiri got 3rd prize at all India Level in Online Solo Singing Competition conducted by Virsa-R to R.

 

 

 

16) NIE (NEWSPAPER IN EDUCATION)

·        A quiz competition was conducted by Times of India in which the team of Master Chirag and Master Ashish Singh secured 2nd position.

·        In Think and Learn competition conducted by Times of India, the team of Master Chirag and Master Ashish Singh secured 2nd position.  Ashish Singh and Sushant of 9th C topped at the Vidyalaya level and won a Tablet each. Aiysha of class 6th D won a wood craft bag in the same competition.   

·        Payal Yadav of X A has won a Tablet for securing first position in Young IITian Mumbai Activity by Times NIE.   

 

17) TWINNING OF SCHOOLS: It is another unique program being conducted by only KV ONGC Panvel in Mumbai Region. Under the School Partnership Programme Students Exchange and Teachers Exchange Programs are being conducted between KV ONGC Panvel and Zila Parishad School, Kalundre, Panvel. Students of both schools visited each other’s school, attended classes, played games/matches and conducted CCA. The Programme is still going on.

 

18) OTHER ACTIVITIES IN VIDYALAYA:

i) Regular PTA meetings, Remedial Classes and Special Classes were conducted for class XII.

ii) School picnics were conducted at Kumar Resort for Classes I to VIII and Wet N Joy for classes IX –XII.

iii) Remedial classes were conducted for classes I-XII during the one hour long zero period created for the purpose and this led to a noticeable improvement in the academic performance of the students.

iv) For the Board Classes ‘Study Camp’ was conducted in the month of December 2017. For class X the classes were held in  KV ONGC PANVEL, for class XII Girls in KV IIT POWAI and for class XII Boys at KV AMBERNATH.

v) The ‘Mothers’ and Daughters’- personal health & hygiene program was held in the vidyalaya to educate personal Hygiene for classes VI to VIII girls in which both girls and their mothers participated.

vi) AEP – KV ONGC Panvel with the co-operation of 6 nodal teachers and one master-trainer conducted Sessions for classes VI-X on various physical and emotional health related issues. Activities and competition like essay writing, slogan, poster making, creative writing, skit were conducted under AEP .

vii) Demonstration of Fire Safety Measures- From time to time personnel from Fire department ONGC conducted mock drills, showing how to use Fire-extinguishers and conduct rescue operations in the time of emergency.

viii) ACP – Awakened Citizen Program is being conducted in our Vidyalaya regularly. Under this, various modules to enhance the learning   competencies of students are arranged by the trained teachers.

ix) SBSB – Swasth Bacche Swasth Bharat Under this program various physical activities and fitness tests for fitness of students are conducted. This program is implemented in all the KVS all over India.

 

19) TEACHERS’ TRAINING PROGRAMME:

   Every year teachers’ training programs are conducted to update the teachers   

   in various fields through Workshop and In-service Training Course.

·        This year five Primary Teachers joined KV ONGC Panvel and attended Induction Course in 2 spells.

 Finally I express heartfelt gratitude to Honourable Chairman of Vidyalaya Management Committee Mr. S.Gopinath for his fine and intellectual gesture and concern towards the development and welfare of the school.

 I would like to thank all the members of VMC and PTA who have always stood by us with their valuable suggestions, guidance and help at every point of time.  I feel it is my duty to convey thanks to all the special invitees, media persons, Principals, parents and the staff for their genuine help and cooperation extended to the vidyalaya for the betterment of school and students throughout the year. I would like to conclude this Annual Report with

 the words of Swami Vivekanand,

 Following the above Thought, the committed, righteous & erudite staff of KV ONGC Panvel prepares the students to be the positive, intellectual and responsible citizens of the country through education.
